The birth anniversary of Pandit Godabarish Mishra is being celebrated since 2003. An annual honour named ‘Pandit Godabarish Mishra Samman’ is conferred on an eminent litterateur of Odisha on that occasion. Sri Saroj Ranjan Mohanty, Prof. Nityananda Satapathy, Prof. Krushna Charan Behera, Prof. Niladri Bhusan Harichandan, Prof. Biswaranjan, Prof. Rajat Kumar Kar,Dr. Bhagaban Jayasingh,Sri Fani Mohanty have received this award.the cash award of Rs 25,000 was introduced in the year 2018. Since 2023 this amount has been enchanced to Rs. 50,000. the cash award amount is given by Godabarisha Mishra's grandson Justice sri Deepak Mishra, his wife smt Suprama Mishra & two daughters annually.
